Dolores on Santa Monica Blvd. It's open 24 hours a day. It's a dumpy dive but as Erin, Christy, & I have discovered, they've got a really large selection of homemade desserts. And it looks very homemade. I'm not saying this place is fancy...or particularly clean...and it's definitely no Sweet Lady Janes...or anything near that. But it's convenient and the desserts aren't store bought or mass produced.
Erin indulged in a yellow cake with chocolate frosting/filling. Seriously, i could TASTE the butter folded into the entire cake (i suspect that's what gave the cake it's yellow color). sinfully scrumptious and artery hardeningly rich.
Christy had the struedel. Crispy, flaky, warm, and gooey. loved it. all it needed as ice cream.
I had the chocolate cream pie. It was solid chocolate, creamy, and smooth. I could only eat about 1/2 before I started to get sick from the richness.
All in all, it's a good place to go when you don't want to drive for dessert. I'd go back again.

It's just a list of my favorite things. I'm also going to put up wines to after this weekend trip up to napa. will that be unacceptable, as well???
